2008 Kia Rondo 7- review
The all-new Kia Rondo 7 is unmatched in the Australian car market. The modern and dynamic styling speaks it all. If interior versatility of an SUV and a stylish and functional vehicle is all you need, then Kia Rondo 7 will be the best buy. Rondo 7 is available in three models namely Rondo 7 - LX, EX and EX Limited version.
The Electronic Stability Program (ESP) is available in almost every Kia car. So is in the Rondo 7. The car is seven seated with flexible seating arrangements. The Rondo 7 offers easy 7-seat flexibility with third-row legroom for real people in a spacious, airy and well-equipped passenger compartment.
Powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, ’Theta’ petrol engine, with continuously variable valve timing (CVVT), produces 142 hp at 6,000rpm and 189 Newton metres of torque at 4,250rpm. The Rondo 7’s 2.0-litre petrol engine is powerful, quiet and most importantly, economical. The die-cast aluminum block and a plastic cylinder head cover are the weight-saving measures.
The Rondo 7 has a five-speed manual gearbox, the 2.0-litre ’Theta’ engine can power the new Rondo 7 to a top speed of 190km/h. Combined fuel consumption is 8.4 litres/100kms. With the optional four-speed Tiptronic-style automatic gearbox, the new 2.0-litre Rondo 7 tops out at 181km/h, and achieves 8.6 litres/100kms on the combined cycle.
Other key features include 4-wheel disc brakes (with ABS and EBD), central locking, driver’s seat height adjustment, tilt adjustable steering column, air conditioning (climate control in the EX Limited), single CD player with the audio system, power windows and cloth seat facings (leather with the EX Limited).
With its rigid structure and balanced suspension layout, the new Rondo 7 minimizes body roll, reduces tyre-generated road noise and ensures negligible noise intrusion into the passenger or luggage compartments.
