This time Alfa Romeo have planned to play a big game in the U.S market and have launched its long awaiting model 8c Competizione.
Alfa Romeo 8c competizione had made its debut at Frankfurt auto show in 2003.But was not seen much, was almost missing and seemed to be non existing in most of the part of the world. However company has decided to bring it into the United States of America to build up its image before bringing its other models in the U.S market. Alfa Romeo is presently owned by the

Italian automobile giant FIAT motors which also owns other world famous brands like Maserati and Ferrari .Being a part of FIAT motors Alfa Romeo 8c competizione have borrowed its engine from Maserati Quanttroporte, although its displacement is enlarged to 4.7 liters . The engine Alfa Romeo 8c competizione is placed behind front axle due to which it have low center of gravity moreover it also blesses car with ideal weight distribution resulting in better stability and driving pleasure. Engine of 8c competizione gives an output of 444 horse power at 7000 rpm and 347 lb-ft of at 4,750 rpm.

It is a rear wheel drive car and its body is completely made up of carbon fiber, with curb weight of 3494 lbs.8c is 172.5 inches long, 74.6 inches wide and has height of 52.8 inches with a wheel bas of 104.2 inches.

TRANSMISSION: - 8c competizione’s Transmission is six- speed sequential manual with paddles placed as a part of rear wheel axle again assuring better weight distribution .what is interesting to hear is that it have a Q-select gear box which have five distinct modes manual –normal, manual-sport, automatic – normal, automatic- sport and ice which facilitates driver to drive according to condition or the way he wishes ‘easy way or the nasty way’. Alfa Romeo 8c competizione is also equipped with the high – threshold stability control system which works on the double wish bone suspension to keep the car on the road and PIRELLI’SP-ZERO CORSA tires for better grip and stability.

In terms of breaking too this baby is very sophisticated it features a six-piston, cross drilled and vented brakes up front and four-piston rear brakes.

Base price by the company is kept as $ 225,000.8c competizione will be made only 500 in numbers and almost half of them are for the American market.
