The Koenigsegg CCGT is a one of the racing car made by the Swedish car manufacturer Koenigsegg. Made its debut appearance in Geneva motor show, the CCGT is designed to compete the in the grand tour categories of sports racing.
It’s very rare to see that u have to de-tune the road car to comply with ACO and FIA GT1racing regulations but the Koenigsegg CC8S, CCR AND CCX are far from the ordinary cars. By race car standards the CCGT has very short length and height, remaining faith full to road going relatives. While this may not produce the down force, the CCGT design is focused on agility and balance, making it a real ‘drivers’ car. This is in contrast to machines racing today and is sure to provide an exiting addition to future competition.
To make the car as light as possible, the CCGT features a chassis built from carbon fiber, Kevlar and aluminum honeycomb material. The chassis draped with body composed of carbon fiber and Kevlar.
Final weight checked in at flyweight2204 lbs (1000 kg),a full 100kgs under minimum weight requirement set by FIA. 100kg of ballast was strategically placed around the chassis to promote the optimum balance and weight distribution .This provides Koenigsegg a huge advantage over the competitors so many of them struggle to 11ookg minimum.
In a road going form, the latest DOHC V8 engine of the CC lineup displaces 4.7 liters and features a twin-centrifugal super charger design. For CCGT, the engine displacement has been increased to 5.0 liters and internals have been heavily modified to suit natural aspirations.
Breathing through the mandated 30.8mm air-intake restrictors, the engine produces in excess of 600 horsepower.
A transaxle co –developed by Koenigsegg and cima features sequential straight cut gears all housed in a light weight magnesium case. The massive carbon brakes with 6-piston calipers are supplied by specialist AP racing, and power is put to the road via Koenigsegg magnesium wheels shod by Michelin slicks.
However the race engine is developed in house in parallel with the production units by Koenigsegg engineers, supported by Andre’s hog Lund from cargine engineers and JP Motor sport but the refinement of CC into CCGT is a great job done by Koenigsegg CCGT (competition coupe GT) team, headed by Dag Bolenius.
So the all new Koenigsegg CCGT is loaded with the best features a GT car can have and we can expect many podium from this beast this season.

Caterham Cars is a manufacturer of specialist lightweight sports cars based in Caterham, Surrey, England and part of the British motor industry. Their only current model, the Caterham Seven, is a direct evolution of the Series 3 Lotus Seven designed by Colin Chapman.
Modern cars are getting bigger, bulkier and more complicated. But, what about Caterham Seven R500? This car also stands one among the modern cars! However, unlike its heavier counterparts, the new Caterham R500 is surprisingly light. In fact, it is named as super light! No wonder why- it weighs less than 470kg! So that’s a “light” modern deal!!
The features of the new Caterham R500 lightweight sportscar include 263 HP 2.0L Duratec four that can spin upwards of 8500 rpm. The power to weight ratio is about 500 HP/ton. The car will get you to 60 from rest within 3.6 seconds. The car also features aerodynamically shaped front wishbones, 13 inch anthracite wheels and launch control. The lightweight Seven packs a 530bhp per tonne punch from the specially bored 1998cc K Series engine. Impressive figures but the real clout comes from the 190lb ft of torque that kicks in at less than 4,000 revs, serving up the 125bhp per litre quicker and with more passion than anything else on the road.
The cabin of the Seven is dressed with lightweight carbon-fibre trim, carbon-kevlar race seats and the classic Superlight Stack speedometer. The new lightweight car has got 13 inch eight-spoke wheels shod with Avon CR500 tyres that help convert the raw power into road performance.
Caterham is designed for the experienced driver. The car has set a new standard in terms of performance and enjoyment!

The interiors of 500 Abarth Assetto Corse are equipped with a roll-bar type-approved for racing that is completely hollow to make the car lighter and faster. The car weighs approximately 180 kg less than the road version. The anatomical seats, the steering wheel (special for racing) and the carbon door panels make the 500 Abarth Assetto Corse a real baby sports car with a determined character all of its own .
The rear part of the car features a white winged spoiler, a badge bearing the Abarth logo and a twin exhaust pipe.
The Abarth identity is expressed to the full with a thunderbolt logo on the side representing the brand’s racing image and a red band and four white chequers on the roof, just as on the winning Abarth 850TC version of the 1960s.

Mazda RX-8 doesn’t have the sleekest, prettiest lines, but if you take a ride, you’ll experience a sports car with fine handling abilities. Introduced in 2004, Mazda RX-8 gets a 40th anniversary package for 2008. Mazda Japan has begun delivering the latest version of its RX-8 sports car to its Japanese dealers.
The new version of RX-8 has great athletic looks, smooth rotary engine, room for four adults and clever rear demi-doors. The key difference between RX-8 and other sports cars is the use of a rotary engine instead of the more conventional internal-combustion piston engine. Rotary engines use a rotor that spins within a housing to complete the combustion process, and the design can make a lot of horsepower from a small-displacement engine. It’s the only rotary-powered production car available in the U.S.
