The sudden upshot of fuel prices have made many users opt for small vehicles. Although the vehicle could be downsized, it won’t be an easy task to give up the ability to drive off road and through adverse weather conditions. It is here the compact SUV becomes attractive.

SUVs, the smaller SUVs are less fuel consuming. A vehicle with a 4-cylinder engine will generally provide higher gasoline mileage per gallon than do bigger

SUVs with larger engines. Some smaller hybrid SUV’s have a rating of 36 miles per gallon in city driving and 31 mpg on the highway for a two-wheel-drive model. The supplemental electric power supports in boosting up the city mileage more than highway mileage.

Apart from that, a smaller SUV is priced affordably when compared to larger SUVs.
Smaller SUVs have more nimble handling than do bigger SUVs. The turning circle of a Jeep Wrangler is 34.9 feet, which is less than a Toyota Camry sedan.
Also smaller SUV’s have extra features that make it beneficial. For open-air driving, the Jeep Wrangler has a foldable soft-top, The Saturn Vue wears dent-resistant plastic body panels, and the Honda Element could be easily loaded as it has side cargo doors with no fixed pillar.

The Nissan Xterra made its debut with stylish, tubular-looking roof rails that could comfortably accommodate a range of storage baskets and kits including a step integrated into the side of the rear bumper. It gives the owner a leg up, helping him to easily reach items stored in the overhead roof racks. Nissan also added this step after watching Xterra owners at ski facilities slip their feet into the tops of the rear tires in order to reach their ski equipment atop the Xterra. Smaller SUVs may not be able to carry heavy cargo, but consumes less fule making it comfortable for the user.

Suzuki is a big name in the automobile industry. It is known for its cars and bikes that are still ruling the roads around the world.  Even though, Suzuki is known for the elegant bike, the cars that came out from its lineage were not below than any competing model.

Suzuki Swift could be found on British roads, usually being driven at about 20mph on the motorway. They were only really popular with cash strapped pensioners who drove them pretty much as motorised shopping trolleys. But then came Suzuki Vitara, the ultimate accessory for the 90’s hairdresser and was generally found in white. Suzuki launched out a series of light commercial vehicles that became an instant hit on European roads. In 2005, Suzuki brought out all-new Swift. The Swift had a big press launch in the UK and appeared in TV commercials featuring none other than Cristiano Ronaldo demonstrating some of his ball skills to some adoring young fans before disappearing in his little Swift.

The Suzuki Swift is essentially a poor man’s Mini but deliver nippy performance. It is a well built model coming at a low price than its counterparts. The Swift comes with a number of petrol engines plus a diesel engine sourced from Fiat which delivers good fuel economy. The Splash, another model developed by Suzuki replaced the Wagon R which was an ill advised name for the British market but as with the Swift the Splash is another good example of a small city car which people are now turning to in their droves. Then came out Jimny, a 4×4 range with a petrol engine in the UK which offer amazing fuel economy. Suzuki has reaffirmed that it is a supplier of small practical cars that are well placed to succeed in an ever- changing market.
