Handle your car with care!
![]() |
Got your dream car? Want to make it last longer? Learn how to handle your car with care. Here are a few quick tips to follow.
How to start-up: You are not going for a race, are you? When you start driving, accelerate slowly. The first few minutes of the operation should be done patiently. Don’t race up with your engine. If you follow this, you will be able to add up more years to the performance of the engine of your car.
Idling- a bad idea!: Most of the car drivers assume that warming up the engine by letting it idle is good for the engine as well as reduces fuel consumption. This is actually wrong. If the engine is kept idle, it won’t operate at its peak temperature. This leads to incomplete fuel combustion, deposit of soot on the walls of cylinder and contamination of oil. Ultimately, your car will have to dump your car because of the damaged components.
Think this way- shift to neutral rather than turning off at red lights. This will put less strain on your engine.
Avoid rash driving: Driving may be your passion, but rash driving doesn’t give your any good result. You should know that driving at high speeds and acceleration quickly results in frequent repairs. The tires of your car will also get tired quickly by rash driving. Extend the life of the tires as well as your overall car performance by avoiding driving at thrilling speeds.
How to hold the steering: Don’t do it too hard. Holding the steering in an extreme right or extreme left position for more than a few seconds can cause damage to the power-steering pump. So, turn your steering wheel gently.
