A wet weather tyre is known for its ability to handle the harsher conditions of winter
The tyre types differ in the rubber compound used and the tread patterns and affect driving in terms of grip, performance, tyre noise and wear. All Terrain tyres have large tread block patterns that may be very noisy on normal roads but will provide a great grip while driving off road.
2. Over 40 million car tyres that are disposed of by tyre retailers, garages and vehicle dismantlers are disposed in an environmentally friendly fashion. Tyre companies pay for this disposing.
3. Car tyres inflated to the manufacturer’s recommended pressure can show an improvement of the fuel economy by 10%.
4. The legal minimum tread depth for a car tyre is 1.6mm, which is applied to the entire circumference of the tyre.
5. New car tyres need running in.
A new car tyre is lined with a non stick coating, which is needed to be able to remove the tyre from the mould. It creates a wonderful shiny appearance and reduces grip. With its capacity to take up to 500 miles to scrub the coating from the tyre, it becomes important. It is advised to take extra care while driving fast in the wet.
