Take Care At Wheels with Used Tyres

Take Care At Wheels with Used TyresDriving a car is not an easy and simple task. You may drive like a saint, but what if the tires are not in good condition? If your part worn tires have not hit every kerb and been speed testing on the local car park gravel, then you are in danger. How do you know if you are safe? How do you know what you are getting, will the part worn tire be safe at high speed or in the wet? Just read out these tried and tested guidelines that will help you in making a decision. Always take into account your safety while driving.
While purchasing a used tire, the first thing that must be considered is aquaplaning. Always take care about a good grip. If any lapse on this part is done, then remember at a particular speed, the vehicle can lose control. Always take care to avoid mishaps.

The more tread you have it will be better for the tire. The patterns of used tyre are designed to clear water from the road surface so that it can make good contact with the road. The deeper the tread, it could clear more water from the road making the journey safe. Aquaplaning happens when a level of water gets build up between the road surface and the tire. This may prevent brakes and steering from working. If this happens, the anti brake system (ABS) and electronics will be of no use causing accident.

A part worn tire, with a not so deep thread will have less grip in nasty wet conditions which is simply lethal. All tires must wear indicators which are little raised areas between the tread.
The damaged tires may even come apart which will lead to accidents while you are on driving seat Beware, avoid risks to save your life.

Prevent your car from the nasty rust

Prevent your car from the nasty rustIf rust has started its invasion in your car, it leaves holes right through the metal of your car. These spots cannot be eliminated. Added to the chaos is the humid weather. The wetter the weather is, the more rust your car will have. So your five years old car’s brake system has completely rusted. What next? The brake lines will soon burst and your car will have no brakes! Imagine you are driving your vehicle which has no brakes at all!!! Tough to perceive, isn’t it? Well, you can prevent this from happening by rust-proofing your car. Here is how to do it.

Check for rust spots: Look over the places around the wheel well and on the places around the wheel well and on the bottom edge next to the ground, as well as around your door locks where any possible chips could have been made.

Treat the rusted area: Use a cloth dipped in alcohol to wipe down the rust spot on and about an inch around it. This procedure loosens the paint. Scrape off the loosened paint. The next thing to do is rub down the area with coarse sandpaper until you reach an area of good paint and then blow away the dust. Now, apply primer using a fine paint brush. Apply the primer beyond the area just about a quarter-inch. Allow it to dry completely.

Apply cellulose stopper: Apply a thin layer of cellulose stopper using an old knife. Next, use a medium-grade sandpaper to make the area smoothly flow into the area surrounding the old rust spot.

The finishing touch: Use a touch up paint to give the finishing touch. Apply the paint quickly and smoothly, overlapping the existing paint job. If necessary, apply the second coat after 24 hours.

There are various rust prevention techniques among which the above was the easiest to do. Doing this, you can protect your car from being vulnerable to the nasty rust.

Car care tips- maintain good tires

Car care tips- maintain good tiresWhat happens if you are on a long drive, enjoying your favorite music and suddenly hear a loud and unpleasant rumbling sound? Just check your tires if it is so. Pull the car over. Your suspicion was right! Yes, the tires are flat! Ugh… Nothing worse can happen to your mood, your long drive and most importantly your car, isn’t it? I know flat tires are indeed unexpected misfortunes. So how should you escape flat tires? The only solution which everyone (including me) will provide is proper care and maintenance of your car tires. Here are some care tips. Read on.

The very first thing to do is to frequently check the tires of your car. Inspect your car at least once a month and ensure that they are properly inflated, free of stones, glass, metal or any other foreign objects. This way, prevent the loss of air in the tires.

The next thing to do is prevent the accumulation of moisture that degrades tire structure with ultimately leads to tire failure.  Check the tire pressure as well.

Other important aspects that are often neglected by car owners are the steering misalignment, improper balancing, excessive heat build up and suspension. This leads to baldness in the tires. The tires are excessively worn out which leads to sluggish driving, skidding and unnecessary accidents. If the tires are not balanced properly, you may experience constant vibrations as you drive. This can lead to misalignments in the wheels, bent wheels and inadequately operating brakes.

Hence, it is always recommended that you ask a specialist to examine your car for its wear and tear at least once in a month. Drop in your car into a garage for servicing once in every month to ensure safe driving.
