We all drive cars, takes care of its looks can’t bare a single scratch on it, its engine and all but we hardly care about its tyres, yes tyres on which your car runs. It’s really very important to look after our tyres.
The essential ingredients for keeping tyres in good condition are to provide optimum performance and give maximum life is air. It is air that keeps the tyre fit and safe and carries the weight of the vehicle and its load, not the rubber or the casing material.
Tyre pressures….. The manufacturers recommended pressure u will find in your manual. These are factory fitted tyres other makes or size of the tyre may require different pressure .So check with your tyre shop for advice. The manufacturers will always give you two settings of the tyre pressure, one for the car with driver and other for the one with full load. It is important to further inflate the tyre when you have full load, particularly when you are going on a long journey that involves high speed carriageway or motorway driving. Under inflated tyres are unsafe, it doesn’t give you good road holding, wear out much more quickly; create extra drag which means higher fuel consumption.
Cuts in the tread or sidewalls, bulges in the sidewalls and stones and foreign object trapped in the tread grooves (which should be removed). It is useful to check for leakage at the valves (especially following inflation) and to replace missing valve caps.
If tyre shows any sign of uneven wear the vehicle should be checked to ensure correct alignment and balance of the wheel.
The way in which car is driven can contribute in excessive tyre wear and damage. Here are some tips for tyre care on road
1. Avoid harsh breaking ,fierce acceleration and fast cornering
2. The steering wheel of the cars with power steering should not be turned while car is stationary
3. Driving over or scrubbing against kerb edgings or other raised obstructions.
4. If it is unavoidable to drive over rough, uneven, unmade ground. Check the ground soon afterwards to ensure that no foreign object have become trapped in the tread patterns and examine the sidewalls for cuts or bulges.
Tyres wear out just like any other components of the car, u need to keep constant eye on them since they are the one thing which keeps you on the road.

By buying a used car, you can save a lot of money, but remember it can be a bit of a gamble as there are no guarantees about the cars mileage, maintenance or history. So when buying a used car you need to be very alert and careful that you don’t buy a lemon by mistake.
Here are a few points to take into consideration
•Don’t look for cheapest car, the “best deal” doesn’t mean the cheapest one, try to look for a car in good condition for practical price.
•Check if the car has a current Warrant of Fitness (WoF). A car for sale must have a WoF that is less than one month old.
•You will most probably have to spend money on repairs in order to bring the car without a warrant up to WoF standard, so ask the seller if there are papers recording the vehicle’s service or repair history.
•Check out the car yourself very carefully, ask a knowledgeable person who knows about cars to help you.
•Be particularly attentive when doing the paperwork, make sure that the person who signs the Bill of Sale is the actual owner of the car.
•Look carefully for signs of rust on any of the weight-bearing parts, as well as on the steering mechanism mountings. When you get into the car, look under the carpets, the boot liner and in the spare tyre area.
•Check the treads of all the cars tires, including the spare, treads must be at least 1.5mm deep across 3/4 of the tread pattern, around the entire circumference of the tire.
•Also look for uneven tire wear, which may indicate problems with the cars steering, suspension or alignment.
•Open and shut all the doors, the bonnet and the boot, making sure they are aligned properly and move smoothly, also check that the windows open and shut easily, and make sure they will stay open halfway.

Weather conditions can at times be very extreme. No matter whether it is winter, summer or a rainy season, driving is an unavoidable thing for the automobile owners. Here we are talking about the summer season driving tips that should be executed by every car driver to make the driving experience even more pleasant during the extreme weather.
• Check the tires: Make sure that the tires are properly inflated. Check the air pressure in the tires because, warmer temperature can increase the tire pressures.
• Check the air conditioner: Keep the atmosphere in your car cooler for better driving experiences. Get the air conditioner serviced before the kick-start of the hot weather.
• Keep extra water: Since it is summer, chances are there that your car over-heats. Before it starts literally boiling, check your engine to cool down completely and add cool water.
• First aid box for your car: Don’t think that only you and your pets deserve a first aid box. Your car also needs first aid. So, keep an emergency kit available in your car.
• Check the spare parts: Look for a spare tire because the tires may get punctured. Make sure that they do act as good replacements.
• Replace the damaged belts: Belts are susceptible to breakage during extreme weather conditions. So, replace them whenever they are worn out.
• Oiling: The level of oil in your car should not dip in summers otherwise this will damage your car’s engine.
Hence, try to adapt these techniques to increase the enjoyment of driving your car even in the hot summer.
