Comment Audi Still Rules the Road
Audi is one of the biggest automaker in the world. It has spread over the boundaries over the decades. The company was found in Cologne, Germany in 1899 by August Horch. Named as Horch Automotive, it began its operations in 1901. It was involved in manufacturing of cars with a horizontal engine producing upwards of 5 horsepower. Horch expanded production and moved to a larger manufacturing facility where a newer, more powerful model cranking out a then-amazing 10 horsepower was released.
By 1910, Horch was booted out of the company, which led him to start another manufacturing company called Audi moniker. The word “audi” is the Latin translation of horch/hark. Audi witnessed the dismantling of the company following the end of the Second World War. After the World War II ended, Soviet Union occupied the eastern portion of Germany appropriating the company, took all of its assets. Audi winded up the operations, but later began operations in 1949 by producing a delivery van and a motorcycle. In the 1950s Daimler acquired Audi which was later taken over by Volkswagen group in 1964. To this day, Audi remains a significant part of the Volkswagen establishment. By the late 1960s, Audi made its historic run to the top of automotive excellence. New models came out from the Volkswagen shooking the automotive world. Later Audi brought out its Quattro sports car, a vehicle with full time all wheel drive and a turbocharged engine. Undeniably, the Quattro was such a runaway hit that the model was banned from some races for having an “unfair” technological advantage.
In the 1980s and the 1990s, Audi produced additional models that collided with Mercedes and BMW, Germany’s two other luxury brands in a bid for automotive supremacy. Audi over the years expanded its market to new continents, bringing out cars with sophisticated features.

There is no need for any introduction for Mercedes. The German auto giant has always been a “prince on roads” for a long time. There was not even a single incident of recall of Mercedes models until now. Thanks to the high quality technological features. The German company launched the AMG model in 1967. Since then the model has undergone vital changes but still is considered as one of the favourite model in the international market.
