The 2008 ford focus brings an expressive look, a refined and flexible interior and a higher level of driving enjoyment to an evolving small car market. With features including ford SYNC, standard side curtain air bags and fuel economy in the mid 30;s the redesigned focus will play an important role in ford motor company’s resurging car portfolio, continuing the momentum built by the successful Ford Fusion and mid-size sedan.
• New class-leading technology - Ford SYNC™, a hands-free voice-activated in-car communications and entertainment system that integrates Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones and digital music players, is attracting vehicle buyers. SYNC-equipped Focus accounted for 40 percent of the sales.
• Improved overall quality - According to the 2008 Q1 Global Quality Research System (GQRS) study, the new Focus boasts 13 percent fewer Things Gone Wrong (TGW) over last year.
• Fuel efficiency - The Ford Focus delivers 35 miles to the gallon.
• This car can accelerate from 0-100kmh (0-62mph) in under six seconds. It has upgraded its model with 336mm ventilated front discs and also to the rear 300mm discs.
• The new design shares a family look with Ford’s other cars and comes in four-d door sedan and two-door coupe body styles.
• The big news is a new Sync entertainment and communications system developed with Microsoft. It provides a hands-free link to cell phones and MP3 players through voice commands.
• With 140 horsepower, the Focus has decent power for most needs. It has a standard five-speed manual transmission but you also have an optional four-speed automatic.
• Safety features that come standard consist of dual-stage front airbags, torso-protecting, seat-mounted front side airbags, side airbags, and tire pressure monitor and child seat.
• Standard equipment: AC, cd/mp3 player, split folding rear seat, tilt steering wheel, antitheft system, power windows, locks and mirrors, fog lamps, four-way adjustable driver’s seat, leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, cruise control, Ford Sync system, sport suspension, all-season tires.
• Optional: automatic transmission, heated front seats, antilock brakes with traction control, Sirius satellite radio, leather upholstery, Audiophile sound system.
The 2008 Ford Focus offers decent handling and miserly fuel economy. The Ford Sync system offers the latest in entertainment and hands-free communications and technology.
