The Honda Fleet in Ready; Are You?
![]() |
Honda is back. Once again to recapture the automobile market, the Japanese automobile giant is now making its entry with new 8th generation Honda Accord. The latest Accord looks sleek, dynamic, sporty and has a lower and a wider track for that solid, planted feel. Hey, have a look at the new low slung, chromed angular grill, the new cool, clear projector type headlights and the muscular pronounced wheel arches housing the 17 inch alloy wheels – and you’ll not find them any less than stunning. The side view of this model from Honda also reveals new waistline matching the perfectly raked roof line.
The rear break light cluster is very BMW’ish. And what’s more? The new Honda Accord takes on a sharp European design. I will call it the perfect model ever came out from Honda..
To add more, the new Honda Accord has been upsized. It arrives with a lower floor space and the wheel base is longer to provide more space, especially for the back seat riders. No worries about the room back. There is enough space which makes the model comfortable to travel. The luxurious leather upholstered cabin environment is quiet and vibration free thanks to the ANC (Active Noise Control) system and is a very comfortable place to be.
No description on Honda Accord will be complete without referring to the communication in-car infotainment centre. A real-time IT package: hands-free Bluetooth, CD/MP3/WMA (auxiliary input jack for connecting portable music players), and a premium sound system with a subwoofer. Holy Christ; this is simply amazing. And how can we miss the high speed internet “Google” connection.
The new sophisticated model Accord has a GPS connected with it. It has a navigation screen that is large and easy to read with a user friendly joystick and command wheel. No more maps everything is click-on: the highways, (byways) expressways, the u-turns and the bypasses, the attractions, the “aroy-aroy” restaurants, the hospitals and the police stations. Want to watch movies in DVD? Buddy, you can do that too even while the car is stationary.
Under the bonnet (the hood), the main focus is the new, second-generation Honda i-VTEC in-line four cylinder 2.4 litre 5-speed motor packing 180 horsepower. It is more powerful than the previous and more frugal. There’s more good news. The new Accord is E 20 compatible (alcohol & gasoline). That’s 20 percent Johnny Walker Red or Stolichnaya and 80 percent unleaded petrol (gasoline) 91or 95.
The Honda Accord’s four-wheel independent suspension features a double-wishbone design in front and a new multilink setup in back. It is a taut on the road without being punishing, and the sedan recovers quickly without any extra bobbing after hitting a bump or dip in the road.
The Honda Accord comes with a safety package comprising of dual i-SRS front driver and side airbags including side curtain airbags with OPD (occupant position detect ant) system. Plus VSA vehicle stability assist combined with ABS and EDB making those slippery curves less challenging.
Is Honda planning to take on the German rivals? With Accord, it seems to be. But one thing is sure. The Honda Accord is definitely going to be a craze among automobile lovers soon. So, the rivals of Honda are now going to have bad nights I guess.
